Privacy Policy

InstantCheckIn is designed to work without a traditional login. This policy explains the information the app uses to provide check-ins, circles, and notifications.

Last updated: October 4, 2026

No account login is required. InstantCheckIn does not require an email address, phone number, password, Apple login, or Google login.

Information InstantCheckIn handles

InstantCheckIn uses limited information to provide the app’s features. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

  • First Name. The name you provide so the app and people in your circle can address you naturally.
  • Anonymous technical identifiers. Random account, installation, and device identifiers used to recognize an app installation and keep it connected to the service. These are not a traditional login.
  • Check-in information. Your check-in schedule, reminder settings, check-in status and history, and pause status.
  • Circle information. Circle membership, invitations or Circle Codes, names of connected people, and the status information needed for circle features.
  • Notification information. Device platform and push-notification tokens used to deliver app notifications. Notification permission and local reminder settings may also be stored on your device.
  • Purchase information. Where paid features apply, the app may receive transaction or entitlement information from the app store used to install InstantCheckIn.
  • Operational and security information. Basic request, error, rate-limit, and security logs needed to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the service.

How information is used

Information is used to provide and maintain InstantCheckIn, including to:

  • create and operate an anonymous installation profile;
  • show your check-in schedule, status, and recent activity;
  • send reminders and other product notifications;
  • connect the people you choose through Circles;
  • coordinate circle status and product actions;
  • recognize applicable store entitlements; and
  • prevent abuse, secure the service, diagnose errors, and maintain reliability.

Information not required

InstantCheckIn does not require you to provide an email address, phone number, password, Apple login, or Google login. The public website does not use advertising pixels, analytics SDKs, or cookies.

Service providers

InstantCheckIn relies on service providers to operate the app. The current technical design uses Cloudflare for application hosting and data services, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push delivery, and Apple or Google services for app distribution, notifications, and store transactions where applicable.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the service, or address fraud, abuse, or security issues.

Circles and other people

When you join or create a Circle, information needed for that relationship is shared with the people involved. This can include your first name and check-in or circle status. Share a Circle Code only with people you choose. You can replace your Circle Code so the previous code no longer works.

Your choices

You can manage notification permissions in your device settings. You can also remove circle relationships and replace a Circle Code in the app.

The app includes an option to delete the installation account and its server data, including check-ins, circle relationships, and device registrations. Deletion cannot be undone. For privacy questions or help with a request, email privacy@instantcheckin.app.

Data retention

InstantCheckIn keeps information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and reliability, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Different categories may be kept for different periods. We do not state a fixed retention period until the production policy has been confirmed.

Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect the service. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. To report a security concern, email security@instantcheckin.app.

Children’s privacy

InstantCheckIn is not presently described as a service directed to children. If you believe a child has provided information through the service, contact us so the circumstances can be reviewed.

Policy updates

This policy may be updated as InstantCheckIn changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are published. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel.
